I will be getting a new ID for my 21st birthday anyway, so...
I kind of want to change my name. For real. Legally. In the courts and all.
Now, I have a few options.
I am COMPLETELY fed up with my last name. Being a public blog, I won't say it, but if you know it, you know it it is long and a pain and would look hideous on a book cover.
I could just shorten it to S..
but I have been trying to use S for about a half a year, now and it really hasn't caught on, even in my own mind, because whenever my name is written officially, there it is, "swampmountain" in German glaring at me from the form on which it is written after "Allison." I want a last name that represents me. Water or Lake, though the latter makes me feel related to Ricki. My father doesn't mind much what I do, so I am sure he will not be ofended by my rejecting his goofy surname.
Ug. Okay, as for first name..my mother wanted to name me either Lindsay (which I am glad she didn't, since a third of the girls in my high school were named that), Bridget (ewww!), or Alice. But it was 1983, so she named me "Allison" instead. She never would have figured that her little blonde baby would grow to tattooed writer-monster who would fare much better as "Alice" than "Allison", which better suits a tall girl who plays soccer.
I do not want to be called Ally. Alley..dumpsters..scummy..hits too close to home.
Or Al. Once again, girl on soccer team..
Maybe Sonny. Short for AlliSON. I know it's a boy name and people will ask me "where's Cher?"
But I think I would be a lot happier if I were called "Sonny" all the time.
Allison has SIN at the end. Which did fit me at one point.
So let's vote.
What should my name be:
1. Leave it as Allison S---------g
2. Change it to Allison S
3. Change it to Sonny Water
4. Change it to Sonny Lake
5. Change it to Allison Water, but have Sonny as a nickname
6. Change it to Allison Lake, but have Sonny as a nickname
7. Change it to Allison Wonderland (I have been toying with this for a while...)
8. Something else (Like what?)

I saw a rainbow!

Magenta sky behind clouds like a shy radiator. Banner band of 7 colors, an arch, a "welcome to the sea." The waves are a conifer roll and the tree a black skeliton of some being reaching up and home. To the other direction, towers of sparkle give the horizon glittering arms.

The rocks spit back the at water's kisses. The evening clouds zip up their blue jeans. And stretch.
Yaaawwwn!

Why can't every day be like today?

Claire and I took a trip down to school...ahh school!
Magical school!
Where there are purple couches to journal on, awesome writers like Patty and Aaron to talk to...
and of course Thai food for lunch.
After that, Claire and I went shopping for some personal things I was lacking in. She talked me out of getting vinyl ones.
At home then tacos. And yoga with the yummy Rodney Yi on the video. Then belly dancing.
